shrub in the desert

"Thus says the Lord:
Cursed is the man who trusts in man
and makes flesh his strength,
whose <3 turns away from the Lord.
He is like a shrub in the desert,
and shall not see any good come...
Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord,
whose trust is in the Lord.
He is like a tree planted by water,
that sends out its roots by the stream,
and does not fear when heat comes,
for its leaves remain green,
and is not anxious in the year of drought,
for it does not cease to bear fruit."
(Jeremiah 17:5-8)

i interpret the curse as a diagnosis. my hard <3 still wants to work for my well-being and put my trust in man. i'm out for my own glory, and everything i do is to win the approval of an imaginary group of people. but it turns out, if i outdo myself, nobody cares, and if i fall short, nobody cares! i'm toiling according to my made up laws and I SHALL NOT SEE ANY GOOD COME.

thank you Jesus that this curse isn't my truest reality! my leaves will remain green and i will not cease to bear fruit! He says, "I am like a luxurious cypress; from Me comes your fruit." (Hosea 14:8)!!!
