kicked in the butt by matt chandler pt 2

i read an interview w/ matt chandler about his church.

they keep their programming lean ON PURPOSE for 2 reasons:

1. to get their people involved with things already happening locally (ie play basketball at the local gym rather than starting a church league)
2. to keep people from turning inward and focusing on what's easiest for them (ie go to the local starbucks rather than employ a church barista on site)

this makes me very excited about grace presbyterian church! we have pretty lean programming, and that can be a GOOD, FRUITFUL THING!
