sense of well-being

My Mom and I have this magical term: sense of well-being.  We developed it when I was home for summers in college, and it peaked when I moved home for grad school and was only working p/t, and then bravely continued on rare Saturdays once I became the Gospel Administrator and then got engaged.

It involves "Coffee and Quiet Times" (another trademark term).  Non essentials are the yummy, crusty old arm chairs in my Mom's house, and, arguably, CoffeeMate creamer (kind of an essential for me).

On leisurely mornings we would spend hours in those chairs reading, writing and talking.  The overwhelming contentment could only be expressed this way: "mmmmmm sense of well-being!"

Well, guess what I found in the Bible.  God says "I make well-being" (Is 45:7)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I so love to live as if my emotions are the end all be all.  And God did make me very emotional, so that is part of my way to Him, but this verse tells me, He not only created me to be emotional, HE CREATED EMOTIONS.  All my deepest feelings are made possible only by His creative act.  He made me capable of the range of emotions that He Himself dreamed up.
