advent venture - dec 1

somehow this is the first year i have personally experienced the widely cliched conflict between the busyness of the holiday season and the true meaning of christmas--maybe it's because shopping will take more effort toting freddy around, or maybe because i have the full decorating potential of a real house, or maybe because i'm trying to follow a budget for the first time in my life--how am i only just understanding this now? 

so much mania makes me malcontent with my little life with freddy.  so i this advent i want to invest myself in something more creative, contemplative (and free).


advent ventures.  


today's venture is a simple repost of this great post. 

i have at least 5 advent calendars on my pinterest but my mom gave me a nice one from TJ's that will do wonderfully.  i think my real challenge in this department will be to forgo stockings this year -- i wanted to MAKE stockings for us 3.  and buy one (or 3) $25 stocking hooks shaped like a little house.

(from crate + barrel.  dang it!  on sale!) 

and then fill them with stuff jared doesn't want and freddy doesn't need,  like chocolate oranges and then eat them myself.  so you are my witnesses that i'm not doing stockings this year.
