well, i can't have the bouquet i want. PEONIES will be out of season, and my florist says she can't get anything else that big. :( so i tried this fun wedding flower finder from real simple, and it told me i want dahlias.

Dahlias are pretty. You definitely want what's in season - it will look freshest and last longer! Poppies should be in season, too...sometimes those are quite big?
Cate called this post to my attention so now I feel like I have to comment on it. I think giant orange chrysanthemums would be awesome too. For some reason, they look more celebratory than dahlias to me. (But I'm going to have peonies at my wedding because they are my fav.)

Dahlias are so gorgeous. I would have had those, but they were out of season, so I had peonies (which I also loved ;)
I'm on the fence...I google image-searched for "orange dahlia" and some I liked and some I very much did not. =P Sorry I'm no help!
I think that dahlias are great! I had roses, but in December it is roses or pointsettias, esp. in western PA. But, I like the idea of dahlias!
