a favorite book

"what a joy it is to race
down to find the lowest place
this the dearest law we know
it is happy to go low"
(hinds feet on high places)

this is one of my favorite books ever. it is a cheese-a-licious allegory. i think i read it for the first time in first grade (yeah i'm bragging) at aunt carol's house, and then i used to read it again every time i visited her growing up. then i found out later it's all about wanting a husband, too, so it helped me at smith college and beyond. and now, i'm enjoying it for a new reason. so far in life, i have been able to withdraw from difficult relationships. now i can't and don't want to. so i'm learning about acceptance-with-joy and bearing-the-cost. read it!
