attempt 1: good friday service
i started with my idea for centerpieces: grapevine wreaths from joann's. crown of thorns? the candles had labels on them that said "jesus is the light of the world" that i peeled off (they were leftover gifts to church volunteers from ages ago, and we have hundreds of them)! maybe the candles could have been more clustered, but GUESS WHO did not even think to delegate a single thing and so didn't have time to do a single thing (ie peel off any more labels). that's right. too busy daydreaming about centerpieces...
and labels for the soups! i bought the mini wreaths for 49c. Should have sprung for the slightly larger ones (79c), but i think this looks fine. thanks to Sarah at sardineink.blogspot.com for her lovely script!
but the most beautiful aspect of the service was the people who helped me as the event got crazy (we planned for 80, had at least 140)! serving beautifies people beyond all centerpieces!
